NSCoder Night at Birmingham Marriott Hotel is Thursday, 5-3-2012

The next gathering of the Birmingham NSCoder Night group is Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 at 7:00 PM.

We will be trying out a new venue for this meeting so please come to the Birmingham Marriott Hotel on 280 instead of our previous location.

NSCoder Night is a social organization of people who program or have another interest in the development of software for Apple platforms including iOS and Mac. We get together at least a couple of times each month on Thursday nights at 7 PM and talk programming, apps, business, games, or anything else of interest over cold beverages.

This is a fun and relaxed networking group with a mix of professional and hobbyists who work with Apple software development. If you code in Cocoa already or think you would like to get started, please come by, have a drink,  and tell us about yourself.

We will be in the lobby area of the hotel. If you are new, just look for the folks with the MacBooks.

See you there,

-Steve

Raise a glass to Steve Jobs at NSCoder Night

It is with a heavy heart that I invite you to join us for NSCoder Night Thursday 10-6-2011, 7 PM at Aloft SOHO.

There would be no such person or group known as NSCoder if it were not for Steve Jobs.

I’ll be there rocking my black shirt, jeans, and running shoes in remembrance of Steve and I hope to see you there.

RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs has died.  I just saw the news about 30 minutes ago and  broke into tears. I knew we would get this news sometime, but I didn’t want to hear it. I have so much to be thankful to Steve for. His visionary products have changed my life significantly. I am lying in my bed writing this on my iPad. Just before I heard the news earlier, I was listening to an iTunesU video from WWDC 2011 on my iPhone while cleaning up after dinner. I went to the Big Nerd Ranch office today and met more of my wonderful co-workers. I have one of the best jobs in the world! I get to write software for iPhones and iPads, the most revolutionary computing devices the world has seen so far.  None of these things would be true today had it not been for Steve. Thank you for doing what you loved and doing it well. You will be missed.
